I 'Googled' the name of the house we are building with Porter Davis and found all these blogs of people in very similar circumstances to us. I thought 'what a great idea! What a fantastic way to keep a record of our progress.' So here is my attempt. We are a family of 6 building a just-right sized house west of Melbourne. Feel free to travel along with us.

About Me

I'm a woman with many interests but very few skills. I'm committed to trying to make the world a better place and one that we can share peacefully. I want people to be respectful thinkers. I have a husband but I don't think that defines me. I also have kids who I love dearly and am so proud of. We have a dog.

False Sense of Security..?

Well, I really can't believe how easy this blogging stuff is! To think when I first saw that this was an essential part of my Systems Analysis and Design unit I went into a complete panic! This is something that I have indeed enjoyed learning. As for my other studies.... well......

Once again I seem to have taken all the reading material for this week in my stride - I seem to be understanding it all easily. I wonder if it is because deep down in the far reaching depths of my mind I actually recall learning stuff like this before, or whether I have finally learned the art of actually absorbing what I read. I hope I am not being lulled into a false sense of security. It is a refreshing change though, to not have to go over something ten times before any of it sinks in.

I have noticed in the newsgroups that a lot of other off campus students are meeting up to discuss what they have been doing etc. I think that's great and my hat's off to you, but really, where do you find the time?

I upgraded to unlimited broadband this week (I study purely from home) so I can now get to all the podcasts and lectures etc. without spending all my hard-earned (and believe me, there's not much of that!) on excess downloads! So this week I am going to concentrate on listening to a few lectures and sorting out the best way to tackle the assignment.

Until next week...
Mandy

Glad you are getting the hang of blogging. It is easy, lots of students were like you - with the oh my God feelings - but its fun really and no pain at all.

Keep up the great blogging.
