I 'Googled' the name of the house we are building with Porter Davis and found all these blogs of people in very similar circumstances to us. I thought 'what a great idea! What a fantastic way to keep a record of our progress.' So here is my attempt. We are a family of 6 building a just-right sized house west of Melbourne. Feel free to travel along with us.

About Me

I'm a woman with many interests but very few skills. I'm committed to trying to make the world a better place and one that we can share peacefully. I want people to be respectful thinkers. I have a husband but I don't think that defines me. I also have kids who I love dearly and am so proud of. We have a dog.

Moving right along.

It's been a couple of weeks and still I am constantly amazed at how hard our builders are working. The top level frame is up and roof trusses on. At the moment the windows are being installed. Every time we've had a stinking hot day we have driven past the house assuming the builders have gone home for the day, but every time they have been there slaving away in the searing heat. I couldn't help myself today and introduced myself and handed them a couple of icy cold beers. I just hope we don't have any wonky walls as a result! Drove past tonight - 5.45pm - and they were just packing up! Wonderful, wonderful guys!

They are certainly moving right along at your house! We seem to have started about the same time. Isn't it amazing that they have days in the contract for wet weather but not for 40 degree days!
Good on you for handing out coldies, I am sure those guys loved you!

Great to see some progress at your place. PD has really come out firing in the new year with all the work going on around the place. Yes the coldies would have worked a treat especially on the days we have had recently.
